Food Day @ETH

A public event focused on sharing food systems research from around the globe.

ETH's annual public event brings together a diverse audience from academia, industry, government and international organizations for interactive discussions and workshops on food systems research and innovation. At this year's edition, ETH Zurich looks back on more than 10 years of food systems research, education and dialogue sponsored by the World Food System Centercdiscussing the challenges and opportunities that still lie ahead to make global food systems economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.

Science communication for #changemakers

The workshop will begin by focusing on what you, as a scientist, want to say. The workshop will provide a social media 101, targeting where to start and how to get attention. Communication specialist Helga Reitz from the ETH Zurich AI Center joins us to introduce opinionated writing- what it is and the need for it to communicate science for change. Give it a go yourself, with hand-on writing exercises.

World Food System Center Research Symposium 2022

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Food Day@ETH, the annual public research symposium will be expanded into a half-day event. Workshops, poster sessions, and panel discussions will focus on the importance of collaborative and participatory approaches to food systems research. Save the date: 11 November 2022.

Community building for food system leaders

Dive into the process of community building during this workshop. The workshop will explore the case study of the World Food System Center alumni network (WFSN). The workshop will share steps that have been taken to develop and grow this community, and they will discuss what worked well and what they learned along the journey. You will receive tools to start and strengthen your own community.

Future proteins for sustainable food systems

The protein sector is in the midst of rapid development. There is a need to accelerate the diversification of protein sources that are sustainable, scalable, and benefit consumers health. In this workshop, you will hear from ETH Zurich scientists and start-ups about new innovative approaches in the future protein sector. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss and share their views on some of the most pressing challenges.

Food Save Webinare - von UAW

«Speiseöl - Food Waste oder nicht»

Die UAW Webinare beleuchten Handlungsfelder mit hohem Food Save Potential. In kompakten einstündigen Sessions präsentieren Experten die wichtigsten Inhalte zu Problem, Ursachen und praxistauglichen Lösungsansätzen – Thema dieses Webinars ist das Speiseöl und wie man es nachhaltiger nutzen kann. Hierbei wird besonderer Fokus auf die Versorgungssituation und den damit zusammenhängenden aktuellen Preisanstiegen gelegt. Es werden praxistaugliche Optionen aufgezeigt, um den Speiseöl-Durchlauf zu reduzieren, um Kosten und ökologische Ressourcen einzusparen.
