Dr. Lucas Grob
CEO
Lucas holds a PhD in food process engineering from the ETH Zurich. Innovations are omnipresent for him, from the development of thermostable chocolate, microstructured powders and the process design for the extraction of microplastics. He is passionate about transferring knowledge and developing ideas from science to business. Dedicated and continuous support of early stage ideas and pioneering projects are key to drive effective innovations for a sustainable future.

Projects, processes and innovations are a central theme of Peter Braun's career in the food industry. His many years of experience, as a project engineer and process developer in R&D at Kraftfoods and as head of R&D, technology and marketing at Bühler AG, as well as a lecturer in process engineering, will now contribute to the development of the industry at Swiss Food Research. His network and knowledge make him a popular sparring partner for all members.

Sandra, PhD, is a microbiologist with a background in human and soil microbiomes and nutrition. She was previously awarded a spin-off grant from the University of Lausanne as well as the "Prix Isabelle Musy" for women entrepreneurs. In the recent years, she gained experience working for an international foundation active in the microbiome and cancer axis and put her technology transfer knowledge into practice. Sandra joins the team to focus on the interactions of food, nutrition, and health.

Helene is fascinated by how ideas get rolling when people pull together. To achieve this, she likes to start by analyzing the problem, network the relevant stakeholders and create a common understanding of the problem between agricultural production, trade, sales and consumption. As an agricultural scientist, she brings the perspective of agriculture to Swiss Food Research. She has already worked in research and administration, as well as for young companies.

Alejandra is an advocate for innovation towards a healthier future and for sustainable food systems. Alejandra is also a World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Shaper and youth activist in support of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

During her studies at Leiden University, she worked in the nonprofit sphere towards gender equality and improving diversity for women in tech. She now splits her time between the Swiss food innovation and NYC climate tech communities. She looks forward to fostering knowledge bridges among these and other sustainability communities.
